Indegene rolls out gratitude bonus to employees amidst coronavirus pandemic

BENGALURU: Global healthcare solutions provider Indegene has announced the rollout of a ‘gratitude bonus’ for its employees amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company is making this payout as a token of appreciation for the commitment and efforts by its employees to not only maintaining current client operations but also supporting additional demand through new contracts secured during this period. The firm has also announced on-schedule annual increments for more than 2,000 employees across its global offices.

“We have been witnessing an unprecedented growth in demand for digital migration by life science and bio-pharma organisations since the start of this pandemic. The industry is scrambling to fastrack digital adoption and mitigate risk of business disruptions. We have been successful in doing this seamlessly, given our own business agility and well-integrated remote teams, and are grateful to our employees working beyond routine capacity to meet the demands of the new normal,” Bina Patil, vice-president of HR, Indegene, told ET.

Indegene recorded a spurt in business over the last few months with enhanced demand from the pharma and life science industry for digital solutions. The company hired 300+ people to meet this additional demand, with another 150-200 new hires in the offing.

Employees of the company, which has 2,500+ people across its offices in North America, Europe, India and China, will continue to work from home till the end of the 2020 calendar year.
